A police officer attached to Fidelity Bank in Yenagoa has reportedly shot dead a National Youth Corps Member and seriously injured
a bus driver. The incident occurred on Monday, 6 January 2020, in front of the said bank at Ekeki, Bayelsa State.
The bus driver who is said to work with Peace Mass Transit, one of the transport Companies in the state, was dropping off a passenger in front of the bank upon returning from Abakeliki, Ebonyi State when the unfortunate event took place.y mob. said
It was reported that the police officer approached the driver and told him not to park at that spot as it was prohibited and it led to a heated argument between the duo.
The officer fired two shots at the driver, one killing the Corps Member and the other leaving the driver seriously injured. The driver has been rushed to an undisclosed hospital. Eyewitness report has it that the bank has been vandalized by angry mob.
